A Tenugui is a traditional Japanese product that balances between art and functionality. Beautifully decorated and crafted, the tenugui hangs on a wall as an artwork, is worn as a scarf and even used as reusable gift wrapping.
The MADO tenugui is designed in Denmark and handcrafted in Japan by a centuries-old technique using organic cotton cloth. Hang, frame, give, wrap or wear. Inspire kids to explore the movement and shape of each individual letter with these intriguing shapes; part of the Alphabet Spaghetti designs by All the Way to Paris. MADO curate a collection of educational, kind, loving and well-made products based on iconic graphics and poetic illustrations. For every print sold, part of the proceeds is donated to a worthy cause- this year, for the construction of a school in one of the poorest areas in Nepal.
Offset printed on 200g uncoated Munken Lynx paper (archival quality, FSC certified). Produced in Denmark under the Swan certification system. Please note the tenugui is sold (as traditionally is sold in Japan) folded, with seams undone and not including magnetic wooden frame. Perfect combined with the Monk and Anna wooden wall hanger.
Size: 34x90 cm.
