The simple, minimalist design of the Steppe rug consists of a short pile wool surface, crossed by strips of extra-short pile that provide a subtle striped texture. The edges are finished with a strip of exposed cotton canvas, which frays into fringes under a narrow strip of wool woven in a contrasting colour.
The wool is undyed and owes its natural shades to sheep of various origins from around the world, with the white coming from the Middle East. As with the entire Sheep of the World collection, the Steppe rug includes a 20% proportion of New Zealand wool in its composition for superior quality and softness.
